As the son of a dental technician, James Choi had clear insight into dental technology from an early age. Seeing firsthand how hard his father worked instilled a drive and passion in James that would come full circle when James decided to pursue a career in dental technology. 5 years of working in a high production setting led James to invest in his future by enrolling in UCLA’s Master Dental Ceramist Program in 2010; a decision that would change the trajectory of his career. After graduation, James had the opportunity to work with Michel Magne in his personal laboratory before accepting the position of Laboratory Director for the MDC program at UCLA in 2013. It was here that James discovered his passion for teaching others to unlock their true potential as well. Today, in addition to being recognized as one of the top dental technicians in our industry, James is well known around the world for being one of the co-creators of the MiYO® liquid ceramicsystem. James currently owns and operates his own laboratory, Maven Dental Studio in Oakbrook Terrace, IL as well as lectures and educates dental professionals around the world.
